# Universal TV Remote® vs Rokmate

The clearest difference is ads: Rokmate at none against Universal TV Remote®'s shown. Rokmate also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (56% vs 40%). Universal TV Remote®'s advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Universal TV Remote® sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Rokmate sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Universal TV Remote® holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.1K and 459 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Universal TV Remote®'s written reviews are positive against 56% of Rokmate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Universal TV Remote® ships an update every 7 months, Rokmate every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
