# Magic FX vs Animated Text

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Animated Text at none against Magic FX's 13. Animated Text also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (11.2 vs 16.0). Magic FX's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 14) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic FX sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Animated Text asks for nothing beyond the download.

Magic FX holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic FX has 3.3K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Magic FX ships an update monthly, Animated Text every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
