# Magic FX vs ProductionCrate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ProductionCrate at 59% against Magic FX's 18%. ProductionCrate also leads on ads (none vs shown). Magic FX's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 302). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic FX sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and ProductionCrate sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic FX holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic FX has 3.3K ratings behind it against 302, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Magic FX's written reviews are positive against 59% of ProductionCrate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
