# Bookmedia vs Reading Diary

The clearest difference is update cadence: Bookmedia at every 2 weeks against Reading Diary's every 2 months. Bookmedia also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookmedia sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and Reading Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bookmedia ships an update every 2 weeks, Reading Diary every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
