# PDF Hero vs PDF Editor

The clearest difference is ads: PDF Hero at none against PDF Editor's shown. PDF Hero also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (10K vs 4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Hero sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and PDF Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Hero has 10K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PDF Hero ships an update every 3 weeks, PDF Editor monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
