# Novaplan vs Notebook

The clearest difference is monetization model: Notebook at free with in-app purchases against Novaplan's subscription. Notebook also leads on review sentiment (93% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). Novaplan's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Novaplan sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Notebook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Novaplan ships an update every 2 weeks, Notebook every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
