# Lowkey vs Contactless Access

The clearest difference is rating: Contactless Access at 5.0 against Lowkey's 4.3. Contactless Access also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Lowkey's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 50%) and ratings volume (37 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Contactless Access holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lowkey has 37 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Lowkey's written reviews are positive against 50% of Contactless Access's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
