# Kitly vs A Basic Girls Guide

The clearest difference is rating: A Basic Girls Guide at 3.7 against Kitly's 3.0. Kitly's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kitly sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and A Basic Girls Guide sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

A Basic Girls Guide holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Kitly's written reviews are positive against 81% of A Basic Girls Guide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kitly ships an update monthly, A Basic Girls Guide every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
