# Kegs and Grub Club vs Java Junkies

The clearest difference is update cadence: Java Junkies at every 3 weeks against Kegs and Grub Club's every 13 months. Java Junkies also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and ratings volume (276 vs 44). Kegs and Grub Club's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Java Junkies holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Java Junkies has 276 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Kegs and Grub Club's written reviews are positive against 75% of Java Junkies's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kegs and Grub Club ships an update every 13 months, Java Junkies every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
