# Secure Scanner vs Scan Now

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Scan Now at 2K against Secure Scanner's 49. Scan Now also leads on chart position (#63 vs unranked) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). Secure Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Scan Now sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.95 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Secure Scanner against 4.8 for Scan Now. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Now has 2K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Secure Scanner's written reviews are positive against 60% of Scan Now's.

Secure Scanner ships an update every 6 days, Scan Now every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
