# Prep vs ZIM Helper

The clearest difference is ads: ZIM Helper at none against Prep's shown. ZIM Helper also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Prep's advantage is ratings volume (122 vs 2) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 10 days). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prep sells 73 one-off in-app purchases and ZIM Helper sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ZIM Helper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prep has 122 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Prep ships an update every 5 days, ZIM Helper every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
