# QuickScan vs Synctrain

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Synctrain at none against QuickScan's 23. QuickScan's advantage is ratings volume (4K vs 123) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QuickScan sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Synctrain asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for QuickScan against 4.9 for Synctrain. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QuickScan has 4K ratings behind it against 123, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 98% of QuickScan's written reviews are positive against 89% of Synctrain's.

QuickScan ships an update fortnightly, Synctrain every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
