# Fancy Fonts vs Smart QR code scanner

The clearest difference is ads: Smart QR code scanner at none against Fancy Fonts's shown. Smart QR code scanner also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Fancy Fonts's advantage is ratings volume (373 vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fancy Fonts sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Smart QR code scanner sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart QR code scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fancy Fonts has 373 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fancy Fonts ships an update every 2 months, Smart QR code scanner every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
