# SmoothSwing vs Perch

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Perch at 100% against SmoothSwing's 50%. SmoothSwing's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (12K vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmoothSwing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Perch sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SmoothSwing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmoothSwing has 12K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of SmoothSwing's written reviews are positive against 100% of Perch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
