# Pi vs Zima Client

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Zima Client at none against Pi's 7. Pi's advantage is review sentiment (88% vs 59%) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 237). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pi sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Zima Client asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Pi against 4.8 for Zima Client. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pi has 1.3K ratings behind it against 237, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 88% of Pi's written reviews are positive against 59% of Zima Client's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
