# PDF Secure vs Coden

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PDF Secure at none against Coden's 1. PDF Secure also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Coden's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coden sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. PDF Secure asks for nothing beyond the download.

PDF Secure ships an update every 9 months, Coden every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
