# WinkNotes vs AnjiCard

The clearest difference is monetization model: WinkNotes at freemium against AnjiCard's subscription. WinkNotes also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 47%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). AnjiCard's advantage is ratings volume (757 vs 129). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WinkNotes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AnjiCard sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for WinkNotes against 4.7 for AnjiCard. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AnjiCard has 757 ratings behind it against 129, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of WinkNotes's written reviews are positive against 47% of AnjiCard's.

WinkNotes ships an update weekly, AnjiCard every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
