# WinkNotes vs Astrail

The clearest difference is update cadence: Astrail at daily against WinkNotes's weekly. Astrail also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). WinkNotes's advantage is ratings volume (128 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WinkNotes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Astrail sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Astrail holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WinkNotes has 128 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of WinkNotes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Astrail's.

WinkNotes ships an update weekly, Astrail daily. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
