# AppBlock vs BeTimeful

The clearest difference is monetization model: AppBlock at free with in-app purchases against BeTimeful's subscription. AppBlock also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (6.9K vs 115). BeTimeful's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (71% vs 55%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppBlock sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and BeTimeful sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AppBlock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppBlock has 6.9K ratings behind it against 115, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of AppBlock's written reviews are positive against 71% of BeTimeful's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AppBlock ships an update every 6 days, BeTimeful fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
