# AppBlock vs Screen time control

The clearest difference is rating: Screen time control at 5.0 against AppBlock's 4.6. AppBlock's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppBlock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Screen time control sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen time control holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppBlock has 6.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AppBlock ships an update weekly, Screen time control fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
