# AppBlock vs TaskLock

AppBlock and TaskLock both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of TaskLock's written reviews are positive against 55% of AppBlock's. TaskLock also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). AppBlock's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 15). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppBlock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and TaskLock sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for AppBlock against 4.6 for TaskLock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppBlock has 6.9K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of AppBlock's written reviews are positive against 100% of TaskLock's.

AppBlock ships an update weekly, TaskLock every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
