# AppBlock vs App Blocker

The clearest difference is ads: App Blocker at none against AppBlock's shown. App Blocker also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). AppBlock's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppBlock sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and App Blocker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Blocker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppBlock has 6.9K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AppBlock ships an update every 6 days, App Blocker every 11 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
