# Crew Counter vs Dune

The clearest difference is price: Crew Counter at Free against Dune's $10.99. Crew Counter also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3). Dune's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (5K vs 5). On rating, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Crew Counter is free to download; Dune costs $10.99 up front. Dune sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Crew Counter asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Crew Counter against 4.9 for Dune. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dune has 5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of Crew Counter's written reviews are positive against 79% of Dune's.

Crew Counter ships an update every 3 months, Dune every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
