# Crew Counter vs Ark Nova

The clearest difference is price: Crew Counter at Free against Ark Nova's $10.99. Crew Counter also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Ark Nova's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Crew Counter is free to download; Ark Nova costs $10.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Crew Counter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ark Nova has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Crew Counter's written reviews are positive against 73% of Ark Nova's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Crew Counter ships an update every 3 months, Ark Nova fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
