# Paint Dropper vs Chat Master

The clearest difference is rating: Chat Master at 5.0 against Paint Dropper's 4.5. Chat Master also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Paint Dropper's advantage is ratings volume (36K vs 4) and review sentiment (33% vs 11%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chat Master holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paint Dropper has 36K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Paint Dropper's written reviews are positive against 11% of Chat Master's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
