# Picture Hunt vs Buster's Journey

The clearest difference is rating: Picture Hunt at 4.5 against Buster's Journey's 3.9. Picture Hunt also leads on ratings volume (6K vs 9). Buster's Journey's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 44%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Picture Hunt sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Buster's Journey sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Picture Hunt holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Picture Hunt has 6K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Picture Hunt's written reviews are positive against 73% of Buster's Journey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Picture Hunt ships an update every 6 weeks, Buster's Journey fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
