# R&R BBQ vs Recommenu

The clearest difference is ads: R&R BBQ at none against Recommenu's shown. R&R BBQ also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Recommenu's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

R&R BBQ holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: R&R BBQ has 4K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of R&R BBQ's written reviews are positive against 93% of Recommenu's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

R&R BBQ ships an update fortnightly, Recommenu every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
