# PreorderPal vs Compress PDF

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PreorderPal at none against Compress PDF's 3. PreorderPal also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). Compress PDF's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Compress PDF sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. PreorderPal asks for nothing beyond the download.

PreorderPal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compress PDF has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

PreorderPal ships an update every 8 months, Compress PDF fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
