# DOTEC vs MPEdie

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MPEdie at 100% against DOTEC's 50%. MPEdie also leads on price (Free vs $7.99) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 16 months). DOTEC's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

MPEdie is free to download; DOTEC costs $7.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DOTEC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of DOTEC's written reviews are positive against 100% of MPEdie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DOTEC ships an update every 16 months, MPEdie every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
