# Notary eJournal vs NotaryCentral

The clearest difference is monetization model: NotaryCentral at free against Notary eJournal's free with in-app purchases. NotaryCentral also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 89%). Notary eJournal's advantage is ratings volume (190 vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NotaryCentral holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notary eJournal has 190 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of Notary eJournal's written reviews are positive against 100% of NotaryCentral's.

Notary eJournal ships an update weekly, NotaryCentral every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
