# Answers.tv vs Cedar

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cedar at freemium against Answers.tv's subscription. Cedar also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Answers.tv's advantage is ratings volume (954 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Answers.tv sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Cedar sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Answers.tv against 5.0 for Cedar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Answers.tv has 954 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Answers.tv ships an update every 3 months, Cedar fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
