# Planetary Hours + Widget vs OptimistPal

The clearest difference is monetization model: Planetary Hours + Widget at free against OptimistPal's subscription. Planetary Hours + Widget also leads on ratings volume (926 vs 8) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). OptimistPal's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Planetary Hours + Widget sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and OptimistPal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Planetary Hours + Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Planetary Hours + Widget has 926 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Planetary Hours + Widget's written reviews are positive against 100% of OptimistPal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Planetary Hours + Widget ships an update weekly, OptimistPal every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
