# ReproBack vs Translucent

The clearest difference is rating: ReproBack at 4.4 against Translucent's 3.3. Translucent's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (20% vs 0%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ReproBack sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.49 per month and Translucent sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReproBack holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 20 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of ReproBack's written reviews are positive against 20% of Translucent's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ReproBack ships an update fortnightly, Translucent every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
