# DAT Prep vs Booster Prep

The clearest difference is rating: Booster Prep at 4.8 against DAT Prep's 3.5. Booster Prep also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (709 vs 8). DAT Prep's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DAT Prep sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per month and Booster Prep sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Booster Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Booster Prep has 709 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of DAT Prep's written reviews are positive against 59% of Booster Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DAT Prep ships an update every 3 months, Booster Prep fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
