# Globe vs openHAB

The clearest difference is update cadence: openHAB at every 3 weeks against Globe's every 3 months. Globe's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Globe ships an update every 3 months, openHAB every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
