# NIV Bible vs OnlyBible

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: OnlyBible at none against NIV Bible's 6. OnlyBible also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months). NIV Bible's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 9). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NIV Bible sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. OnlyBible asks for nothing beyond the download.

OnlyBible holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NIV Bible has 2.2K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NIV Bible ships an update every 2 months, OnlyBible every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
