# Selfpause vs CoolSonics™

The clearest difference is monetization model: Selfpause at free with in-app purchases against CoolSonics™'s subscription. Selfpause also leads on ratings volume (338 vs 2). CoolSonics™'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Selfpause sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and CoolSonics™ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CoolSonics™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Selfpause has 338 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of Selfpause's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoolSonics™'s.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
