Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Simpletv+ at 4.6 against Liveri's 3.6. Simpletv+ also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 46). Liveri's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 31%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Simpletv+ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simpletv+ has 1.3K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Liveri's written reviews are positive against 31% of Simpletv+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Liveri ships an update fortnightly, Simpletv+ every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
