# Fext vs Text

The clearest difference is rating: Fext at 4.0 against Text's 2.8. Fext also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (551 vs 27). Text's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 16). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fext sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Text asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fext holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fext has 551 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two.
