# Fext vs Text Number

The clearest difference is rating: Text Number at 4.7 against Fext's 4.0. Text Number also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (12K vs 550). Fext's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fext sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Text Number sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Number holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Number has 12K ratings behind it against 550, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Fext's written reviews are positive against 39% of Text Number's.

Fext ships an update every 5 days, Text Number every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
