# Мегабитус vs SpeedTest

The clearest difference is ads: Мегабитус at none against SpeedTest's shown. Мегабитус also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months). SpeedTest's advantage is ratings volume (6.6K vs 6) and review sentiment (73% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Мегабитус holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpeedTest has 6.6K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Мегабитус's written reviews are positive against 73% of SpeedTest's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Мегабитус ships an update every 2 months, SpeedTest every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
