# Gree vs Smart Switch

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Switch at 4.2 against Gree's 2.3. Smart Switch also leads on ratings volume (745 vs 6). Gree's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 54%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smart Switch holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Switch has 745 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Gree's written reviews are positive against 54% of Smart Switch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Gree ships an update every 2 weeks, Smart Switch monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
