# Leaf Journal vs Lemon Diary

Leaf Journal and Lemon Diary both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of Lemon Diary's written reviews are positive against 41% of Leaf Journal's. Lemon Diary also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 96). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Leaf Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Lemon Diary sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lemon Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lemon Diary has 1.2K ratings behind it against 96, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 41% of Leaf Journal's written reviews are positive against 80% of Lemon Diary's.

Leaf Journal ships an update every 3 months, Lemon Diary fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
