# Safe3 vs Gridlock

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Gridlock at 100% against Safe3's 63%. Gridlock also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.1). Safe3's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 13) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gridlock sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Safe3 asks for nothing beyond the download.

Safe3 holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 51 and 40 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Safe3's written reviews are positive against 100% of Gridlock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Safe3 ships an update every 5 weeks, Gridlock fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
