# PrepFE vs FE Exam Prep

The clearest difference is update cadence: FE Exam Prep at every 5 months against PrepFE's every 36 months. FE Exam Prep also leads on rating (3.0 vs 2.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). PrepFE's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PrepFE sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and FE Exam Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FE Exam Prep holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 2 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 0% and 0% positive.

PrepFE ships an update every 36 months, FE Exam Prep every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
