# Datang Reader vs Forms

The clearest difference is rating: Datang Reader at 5.0 against Forms's 4.0. Datang Reader also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Forms's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (62 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forms sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Datang Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Datang Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forms has 62 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Datang Reader ships an update fortnightly, Forms every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
