# SMART BMS vs EMBTuner

The clearest difference is rating: EMBTuner at 4.5 against SMART BMS's 2.1. EMBTuner also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). SMART BMS's advantage is review sentiment (17% vs 0%) and ratings volume (76 vs 11). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EMBTuner holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMART BMS has 76 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of SMART BMS's written reviews are positive against 0% of EMBTuner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMART BMS ships an update every 6 weeks, EMBTuner fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
