# Cabela's vs Gowell's Shop 'n Save

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Gowell's Shop 'n Save at 100% against Cabela's's 49%. Gowell's Shop 'n Save also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Cabela's's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (30K vs 61). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cabela's holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cabela's has 30K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Cabela's's written reviews are positive against 100% of Gowell's Shop 'n Save's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cabela's ships an update fortnightly, Gowell's Shop 'n Save every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
