# KMPlayer+ Divx Codec vs MX Player

The clearest difference is price: MX Player at Free against KMPlayer+ Divx Codec's $3.99. MX Player also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (14K vs 52). KMPlayer+ Divx Codec's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 16%) and ads (none vs shown). On in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

MX Player is free to download; KMPlayer+ Divx Codec costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MX Player holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MX Player has 14K ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of KMPlayer+ Divx Codec's written reviews are positive against 16% of MX Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KMPlayer+ Divx Codec ships an update every 9 days, MX Player every 14 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
