# West Coast Sourdough vs That Smash Stack

The clearest difference is rating: West Coast Sourdough at 4.8 against That Smash Stack's 3.0. West Coast Sourdough also leads on ratings volume (1.7K vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). That Smash Stack's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 34%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

West Coast Sourdough holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: West Coast Sourdough has 1.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of West Coast Sourdough's written reviews are positive against 50% of That Smash Stack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
